Lauren Masterson has been the Head Coach of the Trojan Cross Country and Track and Field programs since both programs began in the fall of 2016. Since then Lauren has coached athletes to 86 All-American awards between men’s and women’s programs, 9 Individual National Championships, one NJCAA National Record. In 2020 Lauren Coached the Women's Half Marathon team to Trinidad State's first National Championship.

Lauren has been named Region IX Coach of the Year seven times. In 2020 Lauren was named NJCAA National Coach of the Year.  

Lauren graduated from Adams State University with a BA in Political Science and a MA in Business. While competing at Adams State Lauren garnered 10 All-American awards and won 4 NCAA Division II individual National Championships as a member of the Cross Country and Track and Field teams.

Lauren is a professional distance runner who has qualified for the 2020 Olympic Trials Marathon and competes in elite races throughout the world. She resides in Alamosa, Colorado with her husband Kyle and two Doberman Pinschers, Chief and King.  

 2021 marks Lauren's 6th year at the helm of the Cross Country, Track and Field, and Half Marathon programs.
