Ortivez set to lead Trojans

Adam Ortivez will take over the interim coaching duties for the TSC Wrestling programs when the teams return to campus in January.

Ortivez coached at Trinidad High School for many years, reestablishing the long tradition of strong Miner wrestling programs. He is originally from La Veta, Colorado where he was a state champion wrestler. Ortivez then competed for both CSU-Pueblo and Adams State University.

"A coaching change in the middle of the season is very challenging and I am excited to have Adam come in to keep our athletes on track," commented Athletic Director Mike Salbato. "He has a great deal of experience and comes highly recommended from many people I have spoken to. He is passionate about the sport and plans to keep our athletes on track to reach their goals for the 24-25 season."

Trinidad State has opened both men's and women's coaching jobs. You can get more information at https://www.schooljobs.com/careers/cccs/trinidadstate?

"Trinidad State is dedicated to the future of the wrestling programs. We hope to make it through this difficult time and come out stronger on the other side," said Salbato

Ortivez will be assisted by John Burns.
