TRINIDAD, Colo. – The Trinidad State College volleyball team opened up the 2024 home portion of the schedule with a 3-1 victory over Amarillo College on Tuesday night inside Scott Gym.

The night started in what looked like to be a battle on the Trojans home court as TSC and the Badgers split the first two sets, both 25-23. The Trojans settled into a nice groove that resulted in a 25-18 win in set three and 25-11 win in set four to close out the match.

The Trojans dominated at the net and serving line - posting 21 bocks and 11 service aces compared to the Badgers 4 blocks and 5 serving aces. Amya Speller (So., Monument, Colo.) registered 7 blocks to lead TSC.

Deniz Yileri (Turkey) led the Trojans with 14 kills, 10 digs, and a season-best hitting percentage of .458. Allie Bishop (Fr., Twin Falls, Idaho) and Jaedyn Fuqua (So., Albuquerque, N.M.) each added nine kills while Fuqua tallied four blocks and Bishop with three. Teammate Jordan Garcia registered 19 digs for the Trojans.
