Trojans drop five-set thriller

(TRINIDAD, Colo.) – Scott Gym was rocking Tuesday night when the Lady Trojans squared off with local rival Otero Junior College in a Region IX South contest. TSJC fell to the Rattlers in five hard fought sets to drop to 11-17 on the season and 0-4 in Region IX play.

The first set swung back and forth between the two squads with Otero finally winning it 25-23. The second set saw the Trojans take a 13-3 lead early only to see the Rattlers chip away at it for the 27-25 win. TSJC dominated the next two sets winning by scores of 25-21 and 25-19. In the fifth and final set the Rattlers jumped out early and the Trojans could never regain the momentum. Otero went on to claim the match with a 15-9 win.
