RIVERTON, Wyo. – The Trinidad State College women's soccer program lost two Region 9 road matches against Northwest College and Central Wyoming over the weekend.
GAME 1: Northwest College 13, Trinidad State 0
The Trojans faced a tough Northwest College soccer team and fell 13-0 last Friday. The Trappers scored 10 goals in the first half while the Trojan defense only allowed 3 in the second half.
The Trojans had 3 players in the net with Stephanie Bak (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) facing 7 shots and recording 2 saves, Roxie Rodriguez (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) facing 9 shots and recording 6 saves, and Angelica Quintana Aficial (So., Commerce City, Colo.) facing 8 shots and recording 3 saves.
GAME 2: Central Wyoming 9, Trinidad State 1
Trinidad State scored the first goal of the day in the 6th minute of action from Gloria Wittke (Fr., Denver, Colo.) before the Rustlers answered with 9 unanswered goals in the first half. The teams played to a 0-0 draw in the second half as CWC walked away with a 9-0 win.
Wittke tallied 2 shots with both of them being on frame and 1 touching the back of the net.
Keeper Bak faced 22 shots and recorded 17 saves while teammate Quintana-Aficial faced 23 shots and recorded 19 saves.
Trinidad State returns to the pitch this coming weekend with matches against Western Nebraska on Friday at 3pm and Laramie County at 1pm on Saturday at Central Park.
