Bonahoom and Mendez sign with NAIA squads

(TRINIDAD, Colo.) – Two Trinidad State Soccer players have decided to continue their academic and athletic careers at NAIA Schools. Victoria Bonahoom has signed with Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas and Alejandra Mendez has signed with Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas.

Bonahoom was the captain for the Trojan soccer team this past season. She started every game in goal only giving up 28 goals in almost 1500 minutes in net. Mendez is a midfielder. She scored three goals, including a pair of game winners, this season. Both earned All-Region honors.

"Both players have done a tremendous job for the program," commented Coach Peter Freeman. "They were great leaders both on the field and in the classroom. They were key components to our successful season and will be difficult to replace. I look forward to seeing what they can accomplish at the NAIA level."
