(TRINIDAD, Colo.) – The Lady Trojans improved their conference record to 8-4 on Saturday night with a commanding win over Region IX rival Otero Junior College. The Trojans dominated from the opening tip outscoring the cold shooting Rattlers 30-6 in the first half. The dominance continued to the final buzzer and a 57-23 final score.

Annette Warner continued to be a force for the Trojans scoring 13 points and pulling in nine rebounds. Alaynna Latimore led all scorers coming off the bench for 15 points, including three 3-pointers. Tammarrah Gothard finished with seven assists and Brittnee Coberly gathered nine rebounds in the Trojan victory.

"We had a great week of preparation, but did not expect the dominance that came with it," commented Coach Rich Holden. "Otero has a good basketball team, they were playing as good as anyone in the region up until that game the other night, so I told our girls to enjoy that one for a little while."

TSJC (12-14, 8-4) hosts Lamar Community College tonight for sophomore night at 5 p.m. at Scott Gym. They will then wrap up their regular season with a non-region game in Goodland, Kansas on Friday against Northwest Kansas Tech, and a region contest on Saturday afternoon with McCook Community College in McCook, Nebraska. The Trojans will be looking to host a first-round playoff game the first weekend in March.
