Trinidad State College Softball coach Steve Swazo reached a major milestone on Thursday, April 4, picking up his 500th career win vs Otero College. The Trojans swept the doubleheader by the scores of 7-0 and 11-9. TSC currently has a 27-12 record and are in first place in the Region 9 standings.    

Swazo took over the Trojan softball program in its fourth year of existence back in 2007. Under his leadership for the past 18 seasons Swazo and his Trojans have accomplished numerous awards including winning three NJCAA Region 9 Championships.

His program has been a model of consistency both on the field and in the classroom. The Trojans have had numerous NJCAA Academic All Americans and are always on the NJCAA All-Academic team lists for having a GPA over 3.0
