Trinidad State Trojans Gear Up for NJCAA Cross Country Championships

Huntsville, Alabama - The heartbeat of collegiate cross country pounds in Huntsville, Alabama, as John Hunt Park prepares to host the highly anticipated NJCAA Cross Country Championships. Trinidad State College rolls into town with high expectations for the final race of the NJCAA season.

Men's Race: Trojans Eye the Summit

In the men's division, the Trinidad State Trojans find themselves in a nail-biting competition, with the top four teams separated by mere votes in the polls. New Mexico Junior College, Salt Lake Community College, Colby Community College, and the Trojans are poised for a fierce battle. The Trojans' success hinges on their formidable trio of Kidus Misgina, Hani Haile, and Kameron Eustace, arguably one of the strongest top-3 lineups in the competition. The tight race promises excitement, and the outcome will likely be strongly affected by the performances of Vincent Kipchirchir, Kyle Awelagte, Daniel Recio, and Ayub Sayid, who have consistently traded places throughout the season. The Trojans are coming off an impressive showing at the Region IX Championships where they took the top nine places in the race. They will look to continue that momentum through Saturday in Huntsville.

Women's Race: Trojans Aim for Top 10 Finish

On the women's front, the Trinidad State Trojans enter the championships ranked 12th nationally, eyeing a coveted top-10 finish. All eyes are on Alliyah Molina, who has been on a dominant run through the regular season and is the reigning Region IX Champion from two weeks ago. The Trojan women have been steadily gaining momentum throughout the season, with the remarkable improvement of Megan Garrett, Carli Valdez and McKenna Guymon being a big reason for that. Add that to Shania Chavez' and Molina's consistent performances and the ladies squad is a dark horse for a top-8 finish. The Trojan ladies are coming off a Region IX Championship and looking to cap the season off in dramatic fashion.

Race Day Details:

The men's race kicks off the action at 9:30 am central time, followed by the women's race at 10:30 am central time. The Trinidad State Trojans are ready to leave it all on the course, showcasing their skill, determination, and teamwork.
