(PITTSBURG, Kan.) – Two members of the Trojan track and field team are in Pittsburg, Kansas this weekend for the 2017 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Elias Gedyon and Daniel Haymes both earned national All-American honors in Cross Country this past fall, and now each have a chance to add to these honors at the 2017 Championships.

They will each run on Friday evening and again on Saturday afternoon. Here is the schedule of events with the times listed being Central Times -

Friday –
9:10 PM – 3000 Final
9:40 PM – 1000M Prelims

Saturday –
2:20 PM – Mile Final
3:45 PM – 1000M Final

Haymes is currently ranked ninth in the nation in the 3000m with a time of 8:39.26 and he is sixth in the mile with a time of 4:17.03. Gedyon was ranked second in the nation in the 800m but because of the timing of the races will run the 1000m instead. He is ranked first in the mile with a time of 4:11.02 and will battle with Central Arizona's Gilbert Kigan, a Kenyan runner who is being touted as a pre-race favorite.
