Tyler Wilt named Head Soccer Coach

Tyler Wilt has accepted the Head Coaching duties for the Trinidad State Men's Soccer program, replacing Peter Freeman, who resigned in February to take the head job at Adams State University. Wilt, originally from Aurora, Colorado returns to TSC where he started his college playing career in 2012.

Coach Wilt played on the first two TSC Soccer teams for Head Coach Aaron Miller before heading to York University in York, Nebraska where he finished his college playing career. He then stayed at York, first as an assistant coach and then as the Head Coach for four years.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to call Trinidad home again and to coach at the college where I once played", commented Wilt. "It's an honor to give back to a program that gave me so much. I'm committed to helping the men's soccer team get back on track—both on and off the field. It's going to be a process, but one I'm excited to lead."

Wilt will take over a Trojan program that struggled in a difficult region over the past couple of years.

"We are very excited to welcome Tyler back to Trinidad State", commented Athletic Director Mike Salbato. "He had a great career here and has established himself as a very successful coach. He has good connections in Colorado to bring in some talented athletes to the program. He is a very positive person and has good focus on the student part of what it is to be a student-athlete."

Recruiting for the fall season is underway. Contact Coach Wilt at 303-525-4975 or at tsctrojans@trinidadstate.edu more information.
