Freeman Steps Down As Head Men's Soccer Coach

TRINIDAD, Colo. – Head Coach Peter Freeman has resigned as the men's soccer coach for Trinidad State College after accepting the head coaching duties at Adams State College.

Freeman started at Trinidad State during the 2016 season as the women's head coach before taking over as both the men's and women's head coach in 2018. Freeman was at the helm of both programs for 6 seasons before taking over as the men's coach during the 2024 season.

During his time as the women's coach, Freeman led the Trojans to a 41-57-7 overall record which is the most wins in women's soccer program history for a coach. Freeman led the 2021 Trojans to earn as high as #21 in the NJCAA National Polls and also coached two-time Region 9 Plyer of the Year Laura Torres.

Freeman has been the head coach for the men's squad since 2018 and has accumulated an overall record of 22-64-9. In total, Freeman tallied 8 seasons at TSC.

"Peter is going to be greatly missed in our department. He wasn't just the soccer coach; in many ways he acted as the assistant athletic director. He was at every event, helped the other coaches in anything they needed and even drove the bus for us," stated TSC Athletic Director Mike Salbato. "We are going to miss him greatly. I wish him the best at ASU."

A search for the next head men's soccer coach will take place immediately.
