Men's Soccer Drops Non-Region Contest to Dodge City

DODGE CITY, Kan. – The Trinidad State College men's soccer program dropped a 2-7 non-region match against Dodge City on Wednesday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

Dodge City controlled most of the game offensively by taking 44 shots compared to 12 for the Trojans and also managed 8 corner kicks compared to TSC's 1.

Victor Quintana Antillon (So., Pueblo, Colo.) got things going early in the match as he found Martin Kantorowicz (Fr., Paris, France) sprinting down the right side of the field. Kantorowicz passed DCCC keeper and scored on the bottom left corner of the goal to give the Trojans it's only lead of the match just 18 minutes in.

The Conquistadors answered with back-to-back goals to give DCCC a 2-1 lead at the half before Lucas Vandji (Fr., Romaneche, France) beat three defenders down the left side of the field to tie the game at 2-2 just three minutes into the second half.

DCCC managed another 2 goals within five minutes apart to take a commanding 4-2 lead before walking away with a 7-2 victory over the Trojans.

Kantorowicz tallied 4 shots with 3 of them being on target while teammate Dorien Amoako (So., Commerce City, Colo.) added 2 shots. Jean-Hyek Lim (Fr., Versailles, France), Alex Espinoza (So., Dillon, Colo.), Ali Emran Ghaznawi (Fr., Lakewood, Colo.), Franscisco Molina (So., Pueblo, Colo.), and  Vandji managed 1 shot apiece for the Trojans.

In the goal, keeper Ermal Ahmetaj (Fr., Tirane, Albania) recorded 15 saves off 22 shots faced.

Trinidad State will be back in Kansas on Saturday for a non-region matchup against Garden City slatted for a 2 pm start.
