GREAT BEND, Kan. – The Trinidad State College men's soccer team had a quick turnaround in a 5-1 loss to No. 5 Barton College in Great Bend at the Cougar Soccer Field.
The Trojans (0-3-0) trailed at half 1-2 with a goal in the 31st minute from Victor Quintana Antillon (So., Pueblo, Colo.) but could never gain any real momentum after that. The Cougars held the Trojans scoreless in the second half while adding 3 goals to the lead to walk away with a 5-1 win.
Luis Pacheco (So., Edwards) and Quintana Antillon managed 2 shots apiece while teammates Martin Kantorowicz (Fr., Paris, France), Roman Miramontes (So., Gypsum, Colo.), and Julian Alvarenga (Fr., Brighton, Colo.) added 1 shot each.
Keeper Bryan Amezcua (So., Lakewood, Colo.) faced 16 shots on target while managing 11 saves.
The Trojans have a long road trip coming up this weekend as the team heads up to Wyoming with matches against Gillette on Friday and Casper on Saturday.
