Trojans Split on Road

Trojans Split on Road

Vs. Northeastern

Trinidad State looked to continue their hot streak on the road.  To start, the Trojans looked tremendous because they were playing unselfish and sharing the ball.  On defense, the Trojans were locked in too, not letting Northeastern get easy baskets.  There were people flying all over the ball and hands were everywhere, The Trojans defense was intimidating and was able to get deflections.  Northeastern did not have any answers.  There was no star of this game, but it was a group effort.  Everyone contributed.  In the second half, the coaching staff was nervous because Northeastern has made several comebacks within the past couple of games.  To start the second half, Northeastern came out strong, and the Trojans were turning the ball over.  Northeastern turned their defensive processions into offensive points.  The Trojans stood together and made some changes defensively.  The game was becoming more challenging for Northeastern.  Trinidad State took the lead and never turned back winning 81-77.  The Trojans beat Northeastern at their place for the first time in Coach Folda's history.

Vs. Western Nebraska

The Trojans took their four-game win streak into Nebraska on Saturday to face WNCC.  The game started out shaky, but foul trouble for Western Nebraska kept the Trojans in the game.  Trinidad looked slow on offense and could not stop Western Nebraska from scoring.  One bright spot in the first half was Tosantai Brown, and his energy coming off the bench.  The Trojans ended the half down 1.  To start the second half, Western Nebraska was doing much of the same, beating Trinidad 1 on 1 and getting many second chance opportunities.  The Trojans were unable to find Western Nebraska's open shooters.  And. Trinidad State's winning streak comes to an end, but they were able to make history.
