Trojans win pair of Region 9 games

Vs. North Platte

Trinidad State took on North Platte at home.  The Trojans looked to snap their losing streak.  In the beginning of the game, Trinidad State was able to get whatever they wanted on offense.  They were sharing the ball and executing plays.  But, North Platte did not give up.  They were able to convert easy buckets in their early offense.  The Trojans were not shooting well, so North Platte was able to stay in the game.  During the second half, the coaching staff for the Trojans decided something had to change.  So, they started pressing more on defense, and North Platte was turning the ball over like crazy.  North Platte made one small run, but Trinidad State held on for the 83-71win.

Vs. McCook

The Trojans looked to continue their winning at home against McCook.  The environment for the game was intense because of the McCook players and coaches, and the fans.  To start the game Trinidad State was doing whatever they wanted on offense.  Cooper Peterson was hitting 3's, Dejour Reaves was able to get to the bucket, and Dylan West was dominating the paint.  McCook had no answers for the Trojans offense. In the second half the Trojans tried to change things up by running zone and press defense but that was unsuccessful.  Trinidad State could not stop McCook.  The teams were going back and forth.   The Trojans kept the lead for a majority of the game, and McCook made a run, but the Trojans hit some free throws and to put the game away.  Trinidad State was victorious 100-95.
