Trojans Lose Heart Breaker

Trojans Lose Heart Breaker

Game vs. Frank Phillips College

Well, it was the tale of two halves.  For the third time, Trinidad State was facing Frank Phillips, but they were on their homecourt.  Frank Phillips was missing their best player, so the Trojans took advantage early.  Offensively, they were executing to perfection, sharing the ball, and hitting open shots.  The bench, Gary Johns, Robel Desta, Diego Dominguez, and Jovaugh Wright, gave Trinidad a solid boost as well.  The Plainsmen were unable to get easy baskets in the first half.  The Trojans held a double-digit lead.

Once the second half started, the Trojans looked complacent, and Frank Phillips was planning to attack.  The Plainsmen made a major change, going from man defense to 2-3 zone. Trinidad State could not score, and the Plainsmen were able to convert defense into offense.  They came all the way back and took the lead.  The Trojans were down late, but Dylan West had a tough bucket tying up the score.  There were 3 seconds left in the game and Frank Philips had to go the whole length of the floor to win, and they did.  Trojans lost in a heart breaker.
