The Trojan men's basketball team cruised through the competition this weekend as they routed Lamar JV 95-55 and then defeated Region IX foe Northwest College 92-70 at the Otero Classic in La Junta.

On Friday evening it was an all around team effort as the Trojans ran past the Lopes JV. The Trojans led 50-26 at the half and went on to win by 40 points. Ian Kelly led the way with 12 points. Goy Wang and Jasiah Lewis each added ten off the bench.

On Saturday afternoon four Trojan starters reached double figures in points as Trinidad dispatched the Trappers from Northwest College. Northwest had defeated Lamar on Thursday before falling to Otero on Friday. Keontae White led the effort with a double-double, 18 points and ten assists. Kelly added 17 points, Bilal Shabazz put in 16 points and David Muenkat had 16 points and eight rebounds.

The Trojans are 6-1. They will host Laramie County CC on Tuesday at 4pm, and then travel to Scottsbluff, Nebraska this weekend for a holiday tournament.
