Trojans win pair at home

Trojans outlast Lopes

(TRINIDAD, Colo.) – TSJC moved their overall record to 10-7 on the season with a pair of home wins this past weekend at Scott Gym. The Trojans beat McCook 80-67 on Friday evening and they topped North Platte 86-70 on Saturday.

In the McCook game the Trojans led most of the way outscoring the Indians in both halves. Four starters reached double figures in the game with sophomore Brandon Newman leading the way with 19. Malik Hart knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points. Tykeem Anderson pulled down a team high eight rebounds to go with his 11 points, and Charles Henderson had four rebounds and 13 points.

On Saturday the Trojans led the whole way for their fourth region win. Nine Trojans scored in the contest with five reaching double-digits. Hart and Newman each had 18 to lead all scorers. Karamoko Cisse pulled down a team high eight boards to go with his 12 points. Job Alexander (11 points/6 assists) and Anderson (12 points) also hit double figures. 

The Trojans (10-7, 4-3) will play Northeastern JC in Sterling on Friday and Lamar Community College in Lamar on Monday. They will then play six of their last eight at home throughout February.
