Trojans ready for home opener

(TRINIDAD, CO) – The Trinidad State Men's Basketball team will get their home schedule off to a strong start as they take the floor for five-straight home games in the next week and a half. They started the season 1-2 on the road with three tight games at the Thunderbird Classic in Hobbs, New Mexico this past weekend. The Trojans fell to host New Mexico JC 75-67, topped NMMI 74-71 and fell to Arizona Western 71-64. Free throws and turnovers were both problem areas in the pair of road defeats.

Overall the Trojans have been led in scoring by freshman Tykeem Anderson who has been averaging just over 13 points per game. Returner Brandon Newman and freshman Job Alexander are also averaging in double-figures after three games. Anderson has pulled in 25 rebounds so far and Karamoko Cisse is averaging six boards a contest. Newman also has almost five assists per game.

The Trojans will open their home schedule with Lamar JV this evening at 6 p.m. and then host the TSJC Classic this Friday and Saturday. They will tip off at 7 p.m. both nights of the classic against Clarendon College and Northern New Mexico JV. TSJC will then host ASU JV on November 15 at 6 p.m. and Fort Carson on November 18, also at 6 p.m.
