TRINIDAD – Trinidad State baseball coach Matt Torrez has been named the head coach for the Indian Hills Community College in Centerville, Iowa. Trinidad State will begin its search for its next head coach immediately.

Torrez coached the Trojans to a 222-126 record in his six seasons at the helm, including taking the team to five straight region titles. This past season the Trojans finished 47-12 and were ranked in the NJCAA top-10 for a good part of the season. The Trojans also found great academic success under Torrez, finishing with over a 3.0 GPA every season he was the coach, including a team GPA 3.30 this past season.

Torrez will take over an Indian Hills team that posted a 36-22 record in 2018.
