Torrez claims 200th win

The Trojan Baseball dropped WNCC for a pair of games on Friday in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. These two victories were wins number 199 and 200 in the head coaching career of Trojan skipper Matthew Torrez.

Torrez has already had a memorable career since taking over the program in 2012-2013. His Trojans have won four straight Region IX crowns and have once been Empire Conference regular season champions. Torrez has been named Region IX Coach-of-the-Year four times. Now, in only his sixth season, Torrez has an all-time record of 200-120.

The games on Friday were similar to each other, with the Trojans taking an early lead in each and building throughout the contests, winning by scores of 9-2 and 9-4. Eli Sievert and Niko Guzman picked up the wins on the hill for Trinidad.

The Trojans are ranked #18 in the national polls and are currently in first place in the region standings. TSJC (25-6, 13-2) will travel to Lamar on Wednesday for a game with the Lopes (12-14, 5-6). They will then travel to McCook, Nebraska to take on the Indians (9-16, 4-8) for a three-game set over the weekend.
