Shorthanded Trojans drop tight game on road

Vs. Laramie County

For their first region game, the Trojans drove up the mountains to Cheyenne, Wyoming, to take on Laramie County.  The team was without some of their key contributors.  Trinidad State came out with a hot start, pushing the ball in transition, holding their ground on defense, and forcing Laramie to take contested shots.  After the first eight minutes, the Trojans went away from their game plan and slowed the offense, making it arduous for them to score.  Laramie County took advantage, controlling the pace, running in transition, and winning one on one matchups.  To end the half, Blake Cesar, dove on the floor, picked up the ball, and threw a dime to Richard Swanson for an easy layup, cutting the lead to 1.

The second half started, and it was more of the same, Laramie County had full control of the game.  And were able to execute several lobs because of the Trojan's lackluster defense.  But Trinidad continued to battle, on the offensive end Robel Desta and Gary Johns were able help us stay in the game.  While Blake Cesar took an emphatic charge to help the Trojans gain momentum.  There were 2 minutes left, Trinidad cut the lead to 2, but they had no answers for the Golden Eagles defense.  Trinidad State loses in a close one.
