Region IX Baseball
One of the tightest Region IX title races ever will come to an end this weekend as teams from Southeast CC, Western Nebraska, Northeastern, Lamar and Trinidad square off at the 2019 Region IX Tournament. Only two games separated the top five teams in the final conference standings as TSJC edged out the competition for their second straight empire conference title and the opportunity to host the tournament.

The tournament will be played at Trinidad's Central Park. There will be a play in game between Western Nebraska and Southeast on Wednesday afternoon at 1pm to get things going. After that the tournament goes to a double-elimination format. On Thursday, Trinidad will host the winner between WNCC and Southeast at noon followed by Lamar hosting Northeastern. On Friday at 11am the two winners of Thursday's game will meet followed by the first elimination game at 2pm. The final game on Friday will feature the loser of Game #3 of the tournament against the winner of the 2pm elimination contest. On Saturday the two remaining teams will square off for the 2019 Region IX Title.
